Everything you need to know before prom night. If you still have a question after reading through our FAQ, please reach out. We're happy to help!

Attendance & Guests

Who can attend?

Homeschool students from South Texas and beyond are welcome! Students must be at least 14 years old and currently in 9th–12th grade for the 2026–2027 school year.

Can I bring someone who isn't homeschooled?

Yes! Eligible homeschool students may bring a non-homeschooled guest. Guests follow the same waiver, dress code, conduct, and event rules as everyone else.

Can I bring a recent graduate?

Yes. Graduates from 2025 or 2026 may attend as the guest of an eligible student as long as they are no older than 19 on May 1, 2027.

Do I need a date?

Absolutely not. Come with a date, a friend, a group, or on your own! A pair ticket is simply discounted admission for two people.

Tickets & Registration

When do tickets go on sale, and how much are they?

Tickets open October 1, 2026.

Oct. 1–Dec. 31: $50 individual / $90 pair
Beginning Jan. 1: $60 individual / $110 pair

Registration after April 1 may include an additional late fee due to final catering, seating, security, memorabilia, and event preparations.

The final registration deadline is April 21, 2027. Late registrations may have limited or different meal options.

Are tickets refundable?

Tickets are non-refundable, but may be transferred to another eligible student. Contact us first so we can update the attendee information and paperwork.

The Attire: Midnight Elegance Behind the Mask

What is the dress code?

Formal Prom Attire, with polished Semi-Formal Attire accepted. Black tie is optional.

We encourage students to dress up and make the evening special while still feeling comfortable and confident in what they wear.

Deep jewel tones, black, antique gold, velvet, satin, lace, brocade, and dramatic details fit The Midnight Carnival of Masques beautifully, but dressing to the theme is completely optional.

Masks are encouraged, not required. Carnival-inspired details are welcome, but remember: formal masquerade, not circus costume.

What should ladies wear?

Traditional prom gowns and floor-length evening gowns are wonderful choices, but they are not required.

Choose something that makes you feel comfortable, confident, and like yourself while providing appropriate coverage throughout the evening.

Dress slits should remain below the hip bone. Fully sheer bodices require appropriate lining underneath. Sheer details, lace, mesh, and illusion elements are welcome as long as appropriate coverage is maintained.

What should gentlemen wear?

Suits, dress slacks, dress shirts, ties or bow ties, sport coats, velvet jackets, waistcoats, and polished formal or semi-formal attire are all appropriate.

Tuxedos are welcome, but not required.

Pants should be worn properly, undergarments should not be visible, and casual T-shirts, tank tops, and muscle shirts do not meet the dress code.

Is Texas Formal okay?

Absolutely. Formal Texas attire is welcome.

Dress shirts, formal jackets, polished western boots, western hats, and similar dress attire are appropriate.

If wearing jeans, please choose dark or black denim that is clean, starched, and sharply creased, keeping the western style while maintaining the formal atmosphere of prom.

Does formal attire have to be expensive?

Not at all. Thrift, borrow, swap, alter, shop resale, or work with something you already own. We want the dress code to make the evening feel special, not make attending financially out of reach.

If you need help finding something, email stx.homeschoolprom@gmail.com. We may be able to connect you with resources or families with formalwear to lend, donate, swap, or sell.

A Little Note From Us

Make the evening your own.

Be elegant, dramatic, vintage, romantic, gothic, glamorous, culturally expressive, unconventional, classic, western, or somewhere completely unexpected.

We want students to enjoy dressing up without feeling like they have to fit one particular mold to belong.

Follow the dress and coverage guidelines, bring your own style, and come ready to celebrate. Most importantly, we want every student walking through those doors to feel welcomed, comfortable, confident, and excited to be there.

The Evening

When and where is prom?

May 1, 2027 | 6:00–10:00 PM
Doors open at 5:15 PM for check-in and photos.

American Legion Post 436 / Jourdanton Legion Hall
1404 Zanderson Ave, Jourdanton, TX 78026

What's included?

Your ticket includes a full-course dinner, dessert bar, drinks, DJ and dancing, photo booth, and prom activities and entertainment.

Can parents come in for pictures?

Yes! Parents are welcome during the 5:15–6:00 PM check-in and photo period. Unless registered as a volunteer or chaperone, adults will need to leave by 6:00 PM.

Can students request songs?

Yes! Requests can be submitted through the event waiver or by email and are subject to event and DJ approval.

Dinner & Dietary Needs

What about allergies or dietary restrictions?

Dinner will be gluten-free or include a gluten-free option, and we'll make every reasonable effort for food and refreshments to be free from artificial dyes.

Please include allergies and dietary needs during registration and on the waiver. We'll make reasonable efforts to accommodate them, but cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.

Waivers, Check-In & Leaving

Does everyone need a waiver?

Yes. Every student must have a completed event waiver. No waiver means no entry.

Students will also sign in upon arrival, including whether they drove themselves or arrived with someone else.

Can students leave and come back?

Students may not leave the building or go outside during prom without chaperone approval or supervision.

Leaving early means being checked out of the event. Once checked out, the student is no longer under event supervision. Unexpected departures may result in a parent, guardian, or emergency contact being called.

Re-entry is not automatic and requires organizer or chaperone approval.

Safety & Conduct

Will there be chaperones?

Yes. Adult chaperones will be present throughout prom, and volunteers or chaperones working with or supervising students will be background checked.

What are the conduct rules?

Treat other students, chaperones, volunteers, venue staff, and organizers with respect.

Vulgar, threatening, discriminatory, sexually inappropriate, disruptive, or otherwise inappropriate behavior is not permitted.

Weapons, alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, vaping products or devices, drug paraphernalia, and other safety-threatening items are prohibited.

What happens if someone breaks the rules?

We generally use a three-strike policy for ordinary rule violations, giving students an opportunity to correct their behavior.

Serious misconduct, including prohibited items, violence, threats, harassment, or dangerous behavior, may result in immediate removal without three warnings. A student removed from prom may not return.

Prom Court

Will there be a Prom King and Queen?

Yes! You Should See Me in a Crown is our 2027 Prom Court.

Juniors and seniors attending prom may enter for Prom King or Prom Queen, either by nominating themselves or being nominated by a friend.

Candidates will submit a photo, short bio, and a little about themselves and why they'd like the crown. They'll be featured online before prom.

Voting happens at prom, not online, and only attending students may vote.

Full details will be available on our Prom Court page.

Accessibility, Volunteering & Contact

Is the venue accessible?

Yes. The venue is handicap accessible. For specific accommodations, please contact us ahead of time so we can make arrangements whenever possible.

Can parents volunteer?

Yes! Adult volunteers and chaperones are welcome. Anyone working with or supervising students will be required to complete our volunteer requirements, including a background check.

Still have a question?

Please ask! We'd much rather answer a question than have your family wondering.
